Yas Waterworld Just Broke a Guinness World Record with 55 Waterslides

Yas Waterworld sets a Guinness World Record with 55 waterslides, making an even bigger splash on Yas Island.

If you have ever stood at the bottom of a waterslide wondering, “Should I do it?”… Yas Waterworld has a new response for you: “Which one?”

Because choosing just one slide is now officially a challenge.

Yas Waterworld on Yas Island has just earned a shiny new place in the record books after being awarded the Guinness World Records™ title for the most waterslides in a waterpark. The magic number? A whopping 55 waterslides.

Yes, fifty-five.

That’s enough slides to keep even the most enthusiastic thrill-seeker busy long after their sunscreen has worn off.

A record-breaking day at Yas Island

The milestone was celebrated with an official ceremony at the park, where representatives from Guinness World Records™ presented the certificate to Yas Waterworld’s leadership team.

The award was received by Dr. Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, Group CEO of Miral, and Rayan Al Haddar, General Manager of Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, marking another major achievement for one of the UAE’s most popular family attractions.

And honestly, it feels well deserved. If there’s one thing Yas Waterworld has never done, it’s settle for “good enough.”

Fifty-five slides… because apparently 54 wasn’t enough

This latest title comes after the park unveiled a major expansion packed with 11 brand-new rides, slides and attractions.

The new additions don’t just increase the numbers—they seriously dial up the excitement.

Leading the pack is Matamir’s Drop, now proudly holding the title of the UAE’s tallest waterslide. If you’ve ever wanted to experience that brief moment where your stomach decides to stay behind while the rest of you plunges down a near-vertical slide, congratulations—your ride has arrived.

Not quite ready for that level of bravery? No problem.

There are racing slides, twisting family adventures, splash-filled attractions for younger visitors, interactive experiences, and plenty of ways to cool off without questioning your life choices halfway down.

More than just slides

While the 55-slide record grabs all the headlines, Yas Waterworld has quietly grown into something much bigger.

The park now features more than 70 rides, slides and attractions, all woven into its signature Lost City theme, an extension of The Legend of the Lost Pearl. Instead of feeling like a random collection of rides, the entire park tells a uniquely Emirati-inspired story that gives every corner its own personality.

It’s one of those places where kids are completely immersed in adventure while adults suddenly remember they are perfectly happy acting like kids again.

Still raising the bar

Speaking about the achievement, Rayan Al Haddar, General Manager of Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, said the Guinness World Records™ title reflects the park’s continued commitment to creating innovative, world-class experiences for guests.

He also highlighted that the newest attractions—including the UAE’s tallest waterslide—help strengthen Yas Waterworld’s position as one of the world’s leading waterparks for families, friends and thrill-seekers.

Judging by the numbers, it’s hard to argue.

The verdict?

Breaking a world record is impressive.

Breaking one by giving visitors even more reasons to scream, laugh and immediately queue up for another ride? That’s arguably even better.

Whether you’re chasing adrenaline, planning a family day out, or simply looking for an excuse to spend a summer afternoon getting absolutely soaked, Yas Waterworld has officially raised the bar—and then built another waterslide on top of it.
