Al Hanah Bar at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi, is marking Negroni Week with a special celebration dedicated to one of the world’s most iconic cocktails. From September 21 to 30, guests can enjoy exclusive Negroni creations, guest bartender takeovers, live entertainment and interactive mixology experiences. ✨

The celebrations began with Salmon Guru Dubai on September 21, featuring bartenders Kreidy Elie Bassam and Pablo Gaston Herrera Machuca. The evening combines handcrafted cocktails with energetic house music and live performances. 🎶🍹

On September 22, Berina Senderovic from Signor Sassi Dubai takes over the bar with a more relaxed atmosphere featuring jazz and soft music. The takeover series continues on September 23 with Pasindu Don and Jude Silva from The Manhattan Lounge, Abu Dhabi, bringing a Latin-American-inspired evening with live vocals. 💃🎤

From September 21–23, guests can also experience live cigar rolling, fireside conversations and afternoon masterclasses led by the visiting bartenders. These sessions explore cocktail-making techniques, mixology tips and personal industry experiences, followed by interactive Q&A sessions.

From September 24–30, Al Hanah Bar’s own team will continue the celebration with its Negroni Around the World menu. Highlights include the Japanese-inspired Ume & Oak Negroni, Arabian Negroni, Tropical Negroni, smoky Agave Negroni and the Classic Negroni. 🌍🍸

Art enthusiasts and creative minds can explore the life, work and legacy of Egyptian-Armenian artist Chant Avedissian through Art Appears: Chant Avedissian, a three-day pop-up series taking place at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi. ✨

Presented from 25–27 September, the programme brings together engaging talks, creative workshops and interactive activities inspired by Avedissian’s distinctive artistic practice. Running from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the experience offers participants an opportunity to discover the ideas, cultural influences and stories that shaped one of the artists represented in the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Collection.

Avedissian is recognised for developing a distinctive visual language that drew deeply from Egypt’s cultural heritage, iconic personalities, historical imagery and collective memory. 🖼️ His work reinterpreted these elements through a contemporary artistic lens, creating a dialogue between Egypt’s past and modern visual culture.

Throughout the pop-up series, visitors can engage with discussions and hands-on activities that offer a closer look at Avedissian’s creative process and the cultural references embedded within his work. The programme is designed to encourage curiosity, conversation and creative exploration while celebrating the enduring influence of his artistic legacy. 🌍🎭

The CinemaNA series invites audiences to discover Sudanese heritage, identity and resilience through Cotton Queen, a powerful film by Sudanese filmmaker Suzannah Mirghani. 🇸🇩🎥

Set in the heart of a Sudanese cotton-farming village, the film follows Nafisa, a teenage girl inspired by the stories of courage and resistance passed down by her grandmother, Al-Sit, the village matriarch. 🌿❤️

Nafisa’s world changes when a young businessman returns from abroad with ambitious plans to transform the village through a development project and genetically engineered cotton. What begins as a dispute over the future of the fields soon becomes a much deeper struggle over identity, tradition, belonging and who has the right to shape the future.

As Nafisa discovers her own voice and strength, she takes a courageous stand to protect the cotton fields that connect her community to its history while fighting for the future she believes in. 🌱✨

Directed and written by Suzannah Mirghani, Cotton Queen offers a moving exploration of cultural heritage and the human courage required to stand up for what matters. The screening promises an evening of meaningful Sudanese storytelling and cinema that stays with audiences long after the final scene. 🎞️💫
