When the temperature rises and your inbox is hotter than your social life, there is one sensible move: press pause without booking a flight. The InterContinental Abu Dhabi all-inclusive staycation is the city’s old-school answer – a private beach, a pool with a kids’ slide and every meal sorted, about 15 minutes from downtown.
Here is what the package covers, how the standard and Premium tiers differ and one thing to check before you book, because the published version of the offer ran until 30 September 2026.
Is the all-inclusive staycation still running?
The All-Inclusive Staycation and the hotel’s 36-hour staycation were both advertised until 30 September 2026. The InterContinental has run an all-inclusive package in some form for several seasons, so a winter version is likely, but call or email reservations to confirm the current package and rate before you plan around it. Under-12s staying and dining free has been part of recent versions, so ask whether it still applies.
What the all-inclusive package covers
If you have been burned by an “all-inclusive” that turned into “everything extra” on arrival, this is what has been on the table at InterContinental Abu Dhabi:
- A contemporary room with city or sea views
- Breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, buffet or à la carte depending on the outlet
- Soft drinks and selected beverages with meals
- Private beach and Bayshore Beach Club access, with sunbeds and umbrellas
- The main pool plus a kids’ pool with a waterslide for under-12s
- Health club and fitness facilities (optional, we will not judge)
Standard vs Premium: which tier?
The standard package keeps you to the main outlets. The Premium tier adds Dine Around Access across the hotel’s signature venues, which is where this staycation earns its reputation: Fishmarket (open since 1989), Lebanese spreads at Byblos Sur Mer, Pan-Asian plates at Cho Gao Marina Walk, Belgian classics at Belgian Café and the rotating international buffet at Selections. If you plan to eat properly rather than graze by the pool, Premium is the better value.
WOW Abu Dhabi Expert Tip: On the Premium tier, the dine-around venues book out for dinner by early evening on Fridays and Saturdays. Reserve your tables at check-in, not at 8pm after a full pool day. Fishmarket and Cho Gao go first.
The vibe
This is old-guard Abu Dhabi luxury. The hotel opened in 1981 with one of the city’s first private hotel beaches and hosted the signing of the Gulf Cooperation Council charter that same year. It feels less party deck and more polished living room: families fill the pool at weekends, couples take the balconies on weekdays. With around 390 rooms and a 160-metre beach, it rarely feels crowded.
You are also a short drive from the city’s greatest hits. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is close by and Yas Island is about 35 minutes away. For the full island picture, see our Al Bateen and Breakwater guide – the InterContinental sits right on its doorstep.
