Why falconry matters in the UAE
Falconry is woven into Emirati identity. It began as a practical way for Bedouin to hunt in the desert and evolved into a respected art and a symbol of patience, partnership and heritage. It is recognised by UNESCO as part of the region’s intangible cultural heritage, and the saker and peregrine falcons you see at ADIHEX are treated with extraordinary care. The falcon auctions
The live falcon auctions are the show’s most electric moments. Prized birds change hands for remarkable sums as bidders compete in a fast, focused atmosphere. In 2026 the auction programme runs before and during the show, with pre-exhibition sessions on 15 to 16 and 22 to 23 August and in-show auctions on 29 to 30 August and 5 to 6 September. An online bidding system now lets buyers around the world inspect each bird’s records and bid remotely.
You are welcome to watch even if you never raise a hand. Stand toward the side for the best view, keep your movements calm and let the rhythm of the bidding wash over you. It is theatre, commerce and tradition rolled into one.

Displays and hands-on experiences
