Art Appears: Chant Avedissian

Art enthusiasts and creative minds can explore the life, work and legacy of Egyptian-Armenian artist Chant Avedissian through Art Appears: Chant Avedissian, a three-day pop-up series taking place at Manarat Al Saadiyat in Abu Dhabi. ✨

Presented from 25–27 September, the programme brings together engaging talks, creative workshops and interactive activities inspired by Avedissian’s distinctive artistic practice. Running from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the experience offers participants an opportunity to discover the ideas, cultural influences and stories that shaped one of the artists represented in the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Collection.

Avedissian is recognised for developing a distinctive visual language that drew deeply from Egypt’s cultural heritage, iconic personalities, historical imagery and collective memory. 🖼️ His work reinterpreted these elements through a contemporary artistic lens, creating a dialogue between Egypt’s past and modern visual culture.

Throughout the pop-up series, visitors can engage with discussions and hands-on activities that offer a closer look at Avedissian’s creative process and the cultural references embedded within his work.
