Spooky Sea-son Is Back at SeaWorld Yas Island

Spooky Sea-son Is Back at SeaWorld Yas Island

Spooky Sea-son is back at SeaWorld Yas Island with a new Sakina party, trick-or-treating and haunted desserts.

Let’s be honest. Halloween in Abu Dhabi has always had one tiny problem: it’s still quite warm outside. Dressing your little one up as a fluffy pumpkin and marching them around in the October heat? Brave. Possibly heroic. Definitely sweaty.

Good news, then. SeaWorld® Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the World’s Largest Indoor Marine Life Theme Park, has brought back Spooky Sea-son, and the whole thing happens indoors. Costumes stay crisp, the face paint stays put and the only thing melting is your heart when a dugong shows up in a party outfit. It runs now until 1 November, so there’s still time to get in on the fun.

Sakina Is Throwing a Party (and You’re Invited)

The big headline this year is the all-new Sakina’s Spooky Celebration at One Ocean. Sakina is getting ready for her annual Spooky Sea-son bash, and frankly, she’s pulled out all the stops. Juniper rolls in, along with Coral, Shivers, Puck and Flip, and together they turn the party into a lively show packed with music and performances.

The best bit? You’re not stuck watching from the sidelines. The show pulls guests right into the middle of the action, so prepare for your kids to dance like nobody’s watching. Prepare for yourself to do the same. We won’t tell.

Story Time, But Make It Spooky

If your crew prefers their thrills a little gentler, head to Naham Theater for Spooky Story Time. Juniper shares a playful seasonal tale with Sakina, which is basically the theme park version of a bedtime story, minus the bit where someone asks for “just one more glass of water”.

Afterwards, there are meet-and-greets and photo opportunities for the whole family. Charge your phone. You will take 47 photos and keep exactly one, and it will be the blurry one where everyone is laughing.

Fan-favourite SeaWorld Yas Island characters are also out and about in their seasonal best across One Ocean, Tropical Ocean and Endless Ocean. Keep your eyes peeled, because spotting a dressed-up character mid-stroll is half the fun.

Trick-or-Treating With a Side of Smarts

Now for the part your kids actually care about: candy.

Younger explorers can set off on a trick-or-treat adventure through the park’s oceanic realms, solving riddles and following clues to track down candy stations stocked with HARIBO treats. It’s a proper treasure hunt, and you get to feel like a detective’s assistant the entire time.

There’s a sneaky twist too. Each stop comes with a marine life-inspired fact, so while the kids are busy filling their pockets, they’re also picking up a little ocean knowledge. Sugar and learning in one go. Parenting win? We think so.

Spin, Swirl and Scream (Happily)

When the little ones need to burn off all that HARIBO energy, a few of SeaWorld Yas Island’s signature rides are ready and waiting. The immersive Hypersphere 360° wraps you up in the experience, while Jelly Plunge and OctoZoom! let you spin, swirl and glide your way through the afternoon. Hold on to your snacks.

The Dessert Menu Deserves Its Own Fan Club

Let’s talk about the real reason some of us are going (no judgement here). At Dallat al Bahar and Pretzel Point, the seasonal treats are doing the absolute most:

  • Coconut Strawberry Mousse
  • Haunted Mango Cheesecake
  • Spiced Pumpkin Choux
  • Spooky Chocolate Éclair

And it doesn’t stop there. The seasonal menu also serves up Spooky Cookies, Mystic Cupcakes and Haunted Donuts, with selected treats available at Fathom 11 too. Haunted Mango Cheesecake sounds like a dessert that would follow you home, and honestly, we’d let it.

So, Should You Go?

Live shows, character meet-ups, trick-or-treating, rides and a dessert line-up that might just steal the show? It’s a yes from us. Spooky Sea-son is the kind of day out where the kids think it’s all about the candy, the grown-ups secretly enjoy it just as much and everyone heads home happily worn out.

Spooky Sea-son runs at SeaWorld Yas Island, Abu Dhabi until 1 November 2026. Grab the costumes, round up the family and go get spooked. Indoors. With air conditioning. As all the best Halloweens should be.
