A Platform for Talent Development and Global Exposure

The Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship serves a dual role: as a platform for developing local talent and as a global stage where competitors can improve their rankings and gain exposure. “The championship’s ability to attract thousands of participants from around the world highlights its universal appeal and its role in uniting cultures through sport,” Al Dhaheri emphasized.

This event not only offers a chance for athletes to showcase their skills but also contributes to the development of jiu-jitsu at all levels, from grassroots to professional. It stands as a testament to Abu Dhabi’s strategic vision of becoming a global sports destination and fostering a healthy, active community.

Seamless Coordination for an Unmatched Experience

Mohammed Hussein Al Marzooqi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at UAEJJF and Director of the Championship, explained that the organizing committee is working closely with key partners such as Abu Dhabi Police, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and the Ministry of Interior to ensure a smooth and successful event. From infrastructure to volunteer coordination, every detail is meticulously planned to provide an unparalleled experience for athletes, spectators, and stakeholders.

“With extraordinary participation expected this year, our efforts are concentrated on ensuring that this edition truly reflects Abu Dhabi’s status as a global sports capital,” said Al Marzooqi. This year’s championship is set to feature some of the world’s top-ranked jiu-jitsu athletes, including Lucas Protasio, Felipe Bezerra, and Julia Alves from Brazil, the UAE’s Marwa Al Hosani, and Chris Boyer from the USA, making it a must-watch event for jiu-jitsu fans.

Rising Anticipation and Unprecedented Registrations

The surge in registrations—exceeding 50% two months ahead of the event—highlights the championship’s growing popularity. Athletes are urged to secure their spots early, as registrations are expected to close sooner than planned due to high demand. The championship’s ability to draw a diverse array of competitors year after year is a testament to its reputation as a premier event on the global jiu-jitsu circuit.
